This service can help address the following customer issues:

Sun's MySQL consultants will guide you through the testing process step by step, helping to identify issues found prior to testing, and providing advice to help customers resolve issues found during the testing process. Sun will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide this service.

Sun's MySQL consultants will work with customers who purchase this service to:

• Evaluate the features supported by their storage engines against the features of MySQL's database software
• Analyze the functionality of their storage engines
• Create custom tests, or integrate customer tests, that may be determined by Sun to be necessary for a customer's specific needs on a case-by-case basis based on Sun's evaluation of customer's storage engines
• Help identify issues with their storage engines' integration with MySQL software
• Run the applicable MySQL certification tests
• Review the results of the tests and provide advice to help customers resolve issues identified by the tests

Scope of Work

• Storage engine evaluation
• Create custom tests — or integrate applicable client tests — for mutually-agreeable specific features based on Sun's evaluation of the customer's storage engines.
• Preliminary testing
• Preliminary test review
• Final testing
• Final test review

Deliverables

• Summary report of storage engine feature evaluation
• Limited custom test development or integration, if necessary
• Preliminary test results review
• Final test results review
• Testing summary document, after customer and Sun agree that applicable acceptance criteria have been met

Duration

The MySQL Storage Engine Certification Service includes:

• Up to 3 days of on-site or off-site analysis of customer's storage engine
• Up to 2 days of custom test development, or review, adaptation and integration of custom tests already developed (more days will add to the cost)
• 2 runs of the applicabletests, i.e., 1 preliminary run and 1 final run
• Remote (by phone or other electronic means) meetings to review testing results

Prerequisites

Certification of custom storage engines requires customer's agreement with additional OEM, reseller, and/or solutions catalog terms and conditions. For more information, please contact the MySQL Consulting Team.

Legal Terms

Each customer must also accept the terms and conditions of the MySQL Services Agreement included with the customer's Order Form, or an alternative agreement agreed to in writing by the customer and MySQL or Sun, to receive any MySQL Consulting Services.
