WYSdom Dental Technologies Embeds MySQL Database

ICONic System Addresses Complexities Practitioners Face for Client and Back-End Administration Systems and Communication with the Dental Practice Board

London –- 12 February 2008 -– MySQL AB, developer of the world's most popular open source database, today announced that UK-based WYSdom Dental Technologies has embedded the MYSQL database into its flagship practice management product, ICONic. The ICONic system provides a one-stop-shop solution to address the complex requirements that dental practitioners face with regards to client and back-end administration systems, as well as external communication with the Dental Practice Board.

WYSdom needed to migrate from its proprietary database to a modern database solution that could provide the functionality that the software vendor's current and future customers were asking for. It also needed to meet regulatory requirements to integrate with the Dental Practice Board's system for NHS patients' fee recovery. The Dental Practice Board system is migrating to a Web-based EDI technology, which the previous ICONic application could not support.
