German State Nordrhein-Westfalen Leverages MySQL Enterprise Unlimited

The Nordrhein-Westfalen Data Centre for Finance Management has already deployed over 260 MySQL servers, and is planning to expand its usage of the world’s most popular open source database

Kirchheim-Heimstetten -- May 28th 2008 –- Sun Microsystems, Inc. today announced that the Nordrhein-Westfalen Data Centre for Finance Management (RZF) is relying on MySQL Enterprise™ to deliver its database applications. Following a very successful test period for its custom-built financial applications, RZF plans to deploy additional MySQL™-based database applications in the future.

The MySQL deployment was completed in record time, and the database is now accessed daily by 150 to 500 employees in each office. To maintain and administer its applications, the RZF uses the database monitoring tools and support services included as part of the MySQL Enterprise subscription.

Over 260 MySQL database servers are already deployed across the tax management applications, including financial management forms, taxation-independent directories (bank code, postal code and street directory) as well as software license management applications.
